Need a patent to protect your invention or a trademark for your company's logo? The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office has services to help you address those issues and more. 

Let the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) help you start or grow your business. The SBA is a full-package resource. They help facilitate loans, provide an online learning center, and have a mentor/mentee program. 

SCORE Orlando provides free business counseling and free mentorships. The cost for training seminars vary. They operate out of the National Entrepreneur Center at Fashion Square Mall.

  • How to Start a Nonprofit - SCORE this pre-recorded webinar instructs entrepreneurs on setting up nonprofits. Steps on registering as a charity within your state, applying for tax exempt status, and raising funds, are also discussed. 
  • SCORE also has convenient online workshops for entrepreneurs of every level:  whether you're in the startup stage or you've already experienced a level of success and want to grow your business.

Register Your Business: State of Florida

Whether you run an LLC or non-profit, the state of Florida requires you to register your business and file annual reports with the Florida Department of State - Division of Corporations. 

Register Your Business: Federal

You'll also need to register your business with the IRS to get an Employer ID Number (EIN). You may need to do this even if your business is sole proprietorship!
