ASLdeafined
Use ASLdeafined to learn American Sign Language (ASL) online at your own pace. It can be used by Deaf students, parents of Deaf children, and anyone wishing to learn ASL.

Mango Languages
Choose from over 70 world languages to learn with Mango Languages.

Features include:

Pronunciator
Pronunciator offers a fun, user friendly system to learn 164 languages, including English as a Second Language (ESL), American Sign Language (ASL), and instruction on the US citizenship civics, reading, and writing section of the Naturalization Test. Pronunciator provides interactive audio and videos, music with lyrics, translations, and practice quizzes to help you learn and strengthen your language skills. Personalized courses allow you to create language courses for your individual needs including occupations such as nursing, airport staff, and firefighting.
Rocket Languages
Do you want to learn a new language or brush up on your High School French? Do you want to learn some key phrases in another language before your business or vacation trip? If yes, then Rocket Languages is for you! Learn at your own pace with this fun and interactive database. Rocket Languages places an emphasis on conversational learning.

The language learning tools provided include MP3 interactive audio lessons you can use on your computer or transfer to an MP3 device (including iPods). You'll find: interactive instruction, grammar, culture lessons, word-building games and more.

Languages offered include Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Sign Language. Once you select the language you want to learn more about, click on “Take a Tour” for an easy to use Rocket Language introduction. This database allows you to keep track of your progress, over a week, a month or six months.

Language Classes and Events

The Library offers virtual and in-person language learning experiences at various library locations. For classes and events to learn English specifically, go to the Learn English at OCLS Resource Guide for dates, locations, and times. Cuéntame un Cuento (Ages 3-5)
Cuéntame un Cuento is an interactive bilingual storytime featuring books and songs in English and Spanish that are suitable for speakers of either language.
English Conversation Hour
Practice English speaking skills with others for one hour.
Open Language Lab
Explore and learn English or the language of your choice.
Practice Makes Perfect
Practice Makes Perfect are English conversation classes that are led by Adult Literacy League volunteers.
Spanish from Zero
Learn basic Spanish conversation, grammar, and vocabulary.
Speaking Clearly
Speaking Clearly is a pronunciation class at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels to learn basic English sounds, spelling, speaking and presentation skills.
