Eric Carle was an American author and illustrator who was best known for his bold, colorful illustrations. He wrote and illustrated more than 70 books, many of which were starred reviews from The New York Times, Publisher's Weekly and Booklist. In 2002, Eric Carle and his wife Barbara opened the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst, Massachusetts. The museum was designed with children in mind and features Carle's art work.
