What is Literature and Language Arts?

"Literature has traditionally been applied to those imaginative works of poetry and prose distinguished by the intentions of their authors and the perceived aesthetic excellence of their execution."

-Rexroth, Kenneth. "Literature". Encyclopedia Britannica, 30 Oct. 2020, https://www.britannica.com/art/literature.

According to the National Council of Teachers of English, there are "six English language arts: reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, and visually representing. Reading and writing involve written language, listening and speaking involve spoken communication, and viewing and visually representing involve visual language."
