FAQs - Community Survey

How long is the survey open for customers? Customers can take the survey until January 7, 2024.

Can staff take the Community Survey? Yes, staff can take the community survey if they use the library’s services. Staff will fill out the community survey as a customer.

What languages is the Community Survey available in? The community survey is available to take in English, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, and Spanish.

How can customers access the survey? Customers can find the survey landing page, with all available translations, at https://ocls.info/communitysurvey. They can also use this QR code.

Where can I find the most updated information about the Strategic Plan and the process? You can find the most updated information by visiting our Strategic Plan LibGuide. If you have additional questions you can email stratplan@ocls.info.

FAQs - Library Strategic Capacity Assessment

What is the Library Strategic Capacity Assessment? 

We are planning for the future and want to hear from you!  We invite you to complete the Library Strategic Capacity Assessment as part of our strategic planning process to give your perspective as a member of the OCLS Staff.  The link was sent by our consultant, Amanda Standerfer from Fast Forward Libraries. 

There are four parts to the assessment:

  • Environmental Scan: For this section, you’ll think about various factors at play in our world, country, state, and community that may impact how the library serves the community. This will help us understand the context in which we are doing our strategic planning work and outside influences we need to keep in mind during the process.
  • Core Operations Assessment: In this section, you'll rate how well the library is doing with various core library operations and also give feedback about how the library can evolve these aspects to be more robust.
  • Strategic Priorities:  In this section, we want to learn more about current library strengths and potential opportunities for future impact.
  • Working Culture:  Finally, in this section, we want to learn more about how you work together as Staff members. We know that work environment and team dynamics play a significant role in job satisfaction and performance, so this section will help us understand potential areas for organizational development.
